Hello all, I'm currently in 12th grade and have had straight-As since 8th grade, the first year of high school here. However, this year the percentage required to gain an A-grade has lifted, and I might not reach the cut-off for two of my subjects, giving me a B in them. It's a downward trend - will this look bad for Middlebury? Obviously I'll be trying to reach that A, and the lowest I think I'll get is a B.

My school does not issue GPAs, and if they did, the highest would be about 3.00 due to the way my school grades things.

That’s a really strange circumstance. What does your school have in place of a GPA? A cumulative percentage system of some sort?

This is a question to ask an admissions rep. The number for admissions should be on the Middlebury website. While you’re on the phone with them, you can explain that the percentage system changed.

I think it’s a cumulative percentage system. I’m currently sitting on a 78% average for a couple of my courses. That might seem low, but throughout my state, grade ceilings seem to apply for school assessments - few people get over 80% in humanities subjects :)
