Hi, I scored a 5 on my AP Calc BC exam with a sub score of 5 on the AB portion. I’m looking up the AP credit online and it says that for HSSEAS a 5 only gets you out of Math 32A and not 32B? Is this true? And if so, why? I really don’t want to do any more infinite series tests or Maclaurin series.
Thanks a bunch!
@NigelBojangles I scored a 5 on my BC exam and waived out of 31A and 31B. 31A basically covers differentiation, and 31B covers integration. Which are the two topics you should’ve covered in your BC class. If you want to cover those topics again, go ahead. Personally, I found the C part of calc (Taylor series, geometric series) to be difficult, so I didn’t bother to do it again.
I took 32A fall quarter, 32B winter quarter, and 33A spring quarter. I’m about to take 33B and 61 in the upcoming fall (note that this is the of the math series for me, as a CS major). It’s nice to start later, if you know your stuff, and be able to take fewer classes during your senior year (or take interesting GEs)
