<p>So impressed by Through the Red Doors on Saturday. Lost track of number of times word "community" was said -- usually modified by words like: warm, supportive, genuine, inclusive. Really appreciated the featuring of students in so many formal panels/speeches. Might have been good to have a student life panel with just students for students, but overall a great informative day. Food was not as good as everyone said it would be -- though this could be a feature of the universe of comparison being other school's food!</p>

<p>So glad our tour guide took us to see Brown-- those giant rooms will be some consolation for single sex living if my D doesn't get first choice dorm.</p>

<p>Favorite overheard comment from the ATO's gathering in Freshman quad for BBQ near end of day --- "Dude, it's so mellow and quiet!" "Yeah, we don't want to scare anyone off."</p>

<p>Glad you enjoyed it. FYI, my daughter chose to live in Brown freshman year in part because of how big and nice those rooms were. She also really liked the relative quiet and the casual atmosphere of a girl’s dorm. And believe me, plenty of opportunities to spend time with guys. :-)</p>

<p>The dining hall food is MUCH better. I’m a picky vegetarian, and I was able to find things to eat easily during my overnight stay.</p>

<p>I’m at the junior open house now, but I visited on my own last year and ate at the dining hall and can attest to the food’s reputation. One of the most beautiful dining halls and a wonderful variety of food, especially for students with particular dietary needs. Dd is vegetarian and I am kosher.</p>
