HUGE variation in ACT scores??

So I just got my act scores back. This is the first time I took the test. I didn’t study or look at one thing before hand and just took it to get a baseline. My scores are very skewed. I plan on taking the test again next month for a 30+. Because my scores are so skewed will it be easier to get my score up? How much of a turn off is this for colleges?
English: 26
Math: 24
Reading: 34
Science:23

Comp: 27

The funny is that I hate English and want nothing to do with it in college

*the funny thing is

You should study the next time you take it and you might have a shot at 30+. I wouldn’t see your skewed results as bad though, since it gives you an indication of what to work on. I would put more effort into studying for the English, Math, and Science sections since your Reading score is so high. Good luck!

Also, most colleges look at your highest ACT composite and some even superscore. You should look up the specific policies of each college to obtain that information. If you can obtain a higher score, this initial testing shouldn’t be a huge turnoff.
