Human anatomy or evolution and biodiversity

i personally would like to take anatomy my counselor said that the evolution and biodiversity is a must for the premed sequence.. what gives? is this true or not?

It may be a weird quirk at your school, but generally evolution and biodiversity is useless for med school.

Neither is required for med school. Take whatever one you are interested in the most.

exactly what i wanted to hear... i was wondering though would anatomy and physiology satisfy a year of bio? or is their a specific category i need to take...

The biodiversity might be commonly used by pre-meds to fulfill their bio requirement. My biodiversity class had a lab component which is key. I ended up taking ecology/evolution as well as biodiversity to get my bio minor. If you have an interest, then go for it, otherwise not.

so does that a yes or no? does it complete the year of bio?

You need a year of biology with lab. Again, however, I must emphasize to you that some undergraduate schools do quirky things with their curriculums and that you should investigate this among premeds at your school. It strikes me as unlikely that your advisor would make something like this up out of thin air.

well its only a CCC but if i must i must....

Also remember what Karlthedog discovered - according to one of his mentor-type figures, some medical schools will not accept classes taken at a community college. You should investigate this as well.

muchos gracias!

I've talked with more universities and the advice I've gotten back has all been the same. Take pre-med courses at the four year school. I've talked with schools only on the east coast. I would really have open communication with the school you're hoping to transfer to.
