Is Stanford really as tech-oriented/lopsided in the sciences/math as the stereotype says? What are the Humanities/social science programs like?

bumppp. Anyone?

Actually, never mind. I just saw the threads down below…I know, I’m a blind moron :D

Over 80% of undergraduate degrees are in Humanities & Sciences. On the graduate level, only about 40%. So, tech fields have a big presence, no doubt particularly at the graduate level. Nonetheless, Stanford is very highly ranked in humanities and social sciences. Psychology is the perennial number one dept. in the country. History, Classics, Political Science, English, etc. are highly regarded as well. As at many universities, some humanities depts. such as English have a large number of students, but others are relatively small, such as German. Of course, in the sciences, Biology is large, due to the pre-meds.

Undergraduate humanities programs are superb, and many of the graduate programs are lustrous as well. In some departments UC Berkeley has better graduate humanities programs, however.
