Humidity mold & mildew in Fletcher Hall or Beaty?

My nephew is going to move into Fletcher on a room transfer. But he has heard that the humidity in Fletcher is really bad. He has terrible mold and mildew allergies so this is important.

What about Beaty Towers? I assume since Beaty is newer not 70 years old like Fletcher it should not be as bad.

Thanks for your advice.

I live in Beaty and sometimes mold forms in the bathroom. But I think we have one of the worst bathrooms.

Hi -
My cousin was assigned, not by choice to, Fletcher last year, and in response to your question, allow me to provide you with my opinion. Although Florida in general occasionally has 100 % humidity and mold and mildew are a common side effect of high humidity, Fletcher Hall is old and run-down and many of the windows are shut closed and the air circulation problem is quite noticeable. In my opinion, if your kid has any type of allergies, AVOID Fletcher and the Towers will be a better choice.

Thanks senior and david much appreciated.

To OP-
You are welcome and do yourself a favor and visit the dorms before selecting your choices as you will witness first hand, the dorm situation at UF as compared to other schools can be very changeling. I guess that’s a nice way of saying, some of the dorms at UF are in bad shape. Good Luck !

Beaty Towers is pretty nice too, I’d def. pick that for you’re son!

That are a lot of spaces in Beaty (including my room) that Housing is trying to fill with Spring Admits or overflow housing students, so you’d have a good chance of having your son move into Beaty
