Ponyup15- Thanks for the info, I can’t wait for another one of those sweet SMU letters! HuntLove- Thank you too, I’m so excited to visit Dallas for the first time.
Boomom-Whew that’s a relief. I bet you’re right. I should have checked for a grammatical mistake or a missing word but I received them one after another after another, so it was an emotional roller coaster. Congratulations to your daughter btw.

Congratulations to all finalists! I was just wondering, but has anyone received any finalist letters in the mail yet?

My daughter received the official letter in the mail today. We’re in CA.

Can hunt scholars be apart of greek life, enjoy an occasional drink, etc. or is that frowned upon by others with the title/can you get kicked off it for drinking (obviously if smu police were involved you would suffer consequences) but in general?

asrujfka…haha this is by far the best post ever…and because you posted it you will probably be a hunt. just to give some background details, Presidential scholars are the ones that are extremely smart, have NO social skills, and study 24/7. Hunt’s on the other hand have the mentality of work hard, party harder. At least half of the Hunt’s join a greek organization, at least 75% go out every weekend. We also take a retreat that is fully funded by the school and have a lot of fun to just give you a preview. during interview weekend ask around who ponyup15 is on college confidential and we will have a good time.

I’m glad somebody asked it haha. Another question, can hunts participate in varsity sports such as football and track? Also ponyup15, do you know Trent Mervine?

DK4783 Hunts can participate in varsity sports. One member of our class is on the SMU football team, so if you are interested in playing a varsity sport, you should talk him interview weekend.

hahah i figured someone needed to ask. Also, after we send in our registration stuff are we going to be sent anything confirming that they received it?

looking forward to all the potential hunts coming to interview this weekend. I know this is a late reply but both Hunt and President Scholars are actively involved on SMU’s campus. Both scholarships afford students a wondering experience both social and academically. I would not say that one scholarship is more social than another. We each have our gifts and we each know how to use them in a way that is productive to SMU’s campus. Further, I would like any potential hunt to understand that by becoming a hunt you are not only representing yourself but the entire Hunt Family. It is an amazing gift to be a Hunt Scholar. Get ready to not only change the SMU campus but the Dallas community!

Had a great time in Dallas at the interview. Does anyone know the process? Did each interviewing team select from candidates from that 5-6 person group? How many? etc. Didn’t hear at all how the logistics of the decision will be made? Let me know, and good luck to all!

I saw on the other post that one of the PS Scholars was notified by phone yesterday. I’m wondering if they have notified any Hunt Scholars yet. I was told that they would be mailing letters end of this week or beginning of next week, so not sure if the Hunt decisions have been made yet. Has anyone heard back yet on the Hunt Scholarships?

Anyone hear anything about the timing on Hunts?
