<p>Hello! If an applicant is a finalist for the Hunt Scholarship, does this mean that they are NOT going to be considered for/did not receive finalist for the President’s Scholar Award? Also, could some one please explain the “full tuition and fees less the amount of leading state public school” - is it not full tuition and fees? What does the “less the amount…” part mean? Also wondering if anyone knows whether or not Hunt helps with Room and Board or study abroad… Thank you in advance!! </p>
<p>@alumam77 If you received an invitation for the Hunt, you are no longer in consideration for the President’s Scholar Award. Both groups are in the same building for many of the scholarship weekend events but interviews and most events are separate. The Hunt scholarship does not include room and board. PS award winners are given a separate award entitled Campus Community Award which pays for their room and board as long as they live on campus and are engaged in campus acrtivities. My understanding of the “less” is that the Hunt makes tuition/fees at SMU equal to whatever is the published ( in other words without scholarships or other aid) in state tuition/fees at YOUR home state public university system would be. </p>
