Hutton Honors College and Selective Scholarship Application

What is the criteria to receive a Selective Scholarship Application?
I also recently updated my test scores, and I should be qualified to be in the honors program. Roughly when should the information about this be coming?

Dont believe there is a specific criteria to be awarded SSA. They look at your GPA, Tests scores, letter or rec, essays

For the SSA Scholarships, they each have their own criteria. I do believe they are looking for something beyond the scores and extra curricular activities. Really good letters of recommendation will help. My son was awarded an SSA scholarship a few years ago. He did have a couple letters of recommendation that were very well written and focused on his leadership skills. He focused his essays to emphasize his leadership opportunities he had in school and outside of school (mainly Scouts). When you get to the SSA level, most applicants resumes will be very similar and they are competitive. So, anything that can help separate you from the pack should be emphasized. Leadership roles or any activity outside of school where you demonstrated leadership even if you were not a formal leader will help.

I think OP’s question is about the criteria to receive an SSA application, not to be awarded a scholarship. I don’t know the answer but if you now meet the HH criteria then you should also meet the SSA criteria. In this case, it wouldn’t hurt to call the admissions office to make sure they process your new scores before any SSA deadlines. Good luck!

I could be wrong, but I think if you are Direct Admit you are automatically invited to apply for a selective scholarship. At least for SPEA direct admits. Not sure about the other schools.

Thank you! I called in and they made the SSA available to me.
