Earlier in spring when I made the final decision to attend UC Davis and was notified of my financial aid and awards, I completed the Master Promissory Note right away on the studentloans.gov website for my direct subsidized loan. However, after completing it, I waited for days and weeks and found that the MyAwards site for UC Davis still didn’t update; it still said that my requirement for the MPN was still incomplete. I thought that the MPN I signed didn’t go through, or that I didn’t actually complete it all the way, so I went ahead filled out the form again for a Master Promissory Note. Now, after checking my account on the studentloans.gov website, I found that both of them actually went through. So how do I cancel one of them? What happens if I accidentally signed 2 Master Promissory Notes? I’m still very new to things financial-aid related, especially with the federal loans. So if anyone can elucidate on this and help me out, that’d be great. Thanks.
Nothing will happen, the school can only post the loans to one MPN. You can ask the school to delete one.
