I Already Know Who I Want to Roommate With - Does that Mean I get Higher Priority?

I'm an incoming GT for Fall 2007. However, I have already contacted several other GTs and have picked out a roommate. I have sent an email to Mrs. Davenport (the housing lady) and requested a specific roommate.

Does that usually put us higher on the list of housing? In other words, will we get our housing assignments sooner because we requested roommates, thus saving them the effort to pick out random roommates?

I'd say you have around a 4/5 chance of getting your requested roommate. No, you won't get your housing assignments sooner. There's no "effort" involved in assigning people to rooms. A computer does it.

so there's actually a chance that we won't even get our requested roommate? I had no idea it was so random like this.

It all depends. Last year, they overenrolled the freshmen so they were in a housing crunch and I wasn't with my requested roommate and I know that happened to a bunch of people.

Transfers have reserved beds and such tho...seems like it would be very strange if you didn't get ur requested roommate...that would be sucky.

hahaha...wattupp figs....im still waitin on that email btw
