I always miss these math questions..

Can someone tell me all the "minusing" phrases
Like if they say
X decreased by Y
Write it out
Its just x-y
But x subtracted by y...
and x less than y...
can someone tell me all the minus ways to write out those and other minus expressions? Thanks.

u minus in the order u read it most of the time except for x les than y, because its sayen for y, u take a certain value x, leavin u with a differnt number, so y-x. hope it helps

plug stuff in.
2 decreased by 4 is what?
If you have two apples, and decrease the apples by four, you'd owe two apples, which is -2, so I think it's indeed x-y.

x subtracted by y? It should be x subtracted FROM y, then it'll be y-x. You can't say "subtracted by", you can say "divided by". X less than y is still y-x. But i think x decreased by y is a different story.
