I am admitted by UCLA, but .......

I am admitted by UCLA with Pre Business Economics as my major. Being honest, my gpa is just 3.56, and my English is just "ok", therefore I am afraid of going to UCLA (it is very competitive and hard to get into Bizecon, and I dont want to be a student with low gpa there). If you were me, would you go to UCLA, or just go to UC DAVIS with Manergerial Economcis as your major?

**** I never thought I'd get into UCLA with GPA 3.5 =.=!! Now It is very hard for me to make a decision....please help!!!

UCLA! No doubt about it.

I wouldn’t worry too much. You just gotta work hard in your first few classes. If you don’t do especially well transfer to Economics. In the long run, you will come out better by going to UCLA

Your future employer won’t know your GPA, unless you tell them, they’ll just see where you graduated from

you don’t need to worry about it, I saw some one got accepted for only 3.15GPA fall 09.

GO!!! you will not regret it. I am a transfer from UC to UC and UC’s are the same level at most schools! so if you choose Davis over UCLA for easy factor, you will be surprised that Davis isn’t any easier…just different. You have gotten this far, don’t give up!

For the price you pay and for the fact that you DO HAVE the option to go to UCLA, you would be silly not to take advantage of that! I know people in your major who were denied and I’m sure if they were you they would gladly take your spot!

GO FOR IT! Don’t be scared it’s too hard, there is always extra help, T.A.'s and tutor centers if you need it! Do not let your english level or what you thought were low grades get in the way! UCLA CHOSE YOU FOR A REASON! they want you at their school! you bring something others do not!!

I know UCLA is better, and I decide to study hard at UC. However, my English is not good (I didnt know English at all until I came to US, I just live in US for 4 years) . I am afraid I can’t get good grade there because most UCLA students study hard as we know.

My English sucks big time too, but I am transferring to UCLA!!

I know UCLA students who get by with doing little to no work at all. It is not hard, you can do JUST FINE. you are in! embrace it  challenge yourself, there is plenty of help you can get as an international student.

People always say it is very hard to get into bizecon. As i know, the average GPA accepted for bizcon is over 3.8. My gpa is just 3.5, how can i compete with those students with high GPA. I am afraid i cant get into bizecon.

Go read this thread, I find it very helpful.

if they accepted you with a lower GPA, they found something in you that made them believe that you can handle their coursework at a similar level to the other biz econ majors. JUST GO TO UCLA

THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I think I know where to go now! THANKS, EVERYONE!

+1 for what spooned said, you got in for a reason, take it and run

I suggest you go into UCLA. Although you have a 3.5 but you still got admitted and thats what its all about. Congratulations, and keep up the good work yuu’ll be just fine.

You should not ditch UCLA just because of fear alone. But, to get to know how the study is like, you might want to ask current UCLA students. Or specifically, ones in your major.
I think that if you, or anyone is eligible to get in, they are eligible to succeed in UCLA. However, I bet that it requires a strong mind-set and a willingness to sacrifice a lot of time.
