The average pre-requisite GPA to enter the business school for undergraduates is a 3.70. Pre-requisite classes include Intro to Micro (or Macro), English Comp, Business Calc (or Calc I) and Financial Accounting.

My grades:

Intro to Micro - 3.70
English Comp - 3.70
Calc I - AP credit
Financial Accounting - haven't taken yet
PRE-REQ GPA - 3.70
CUMULATIVE GPA - 3.23

I'm a little worried that I might not get into the business school because only 25% get in through early admit and 50% get in through regular admit.

The average cumulative GPA of admitted students is a 3.55. My cumulative GPA is only a 3.23 because of the classes I took for pre-engineering my first quarter in college (Chem I - 2.4, Calc II - 1.8).

"Brief" summary of my personal statement:

I am a first generation college student. Oldest of three and my parents immigrated from Taiwan a year before I was born. I was introduced to English for the first time in kindergarten and had to take ESL through 5th grade to catch up. I had a 3.95 GPA in high school not necessarily because I was smart but because I gave my full effort in everything I pursued. Now that I am in college I have felt a lot of pressure from my parents to succeed and wanted me to major in "respected" profession. Despite my doubts, I was convinced that I would be able to work hard and succeed as an Engineering major, but I quickly realized that I was not prepared to handle the task even with my best efforts. My GPA through one quarter was a 2.60. Once I switched to pre-business it is now a 3.23 after getting a 3.79 GPA. I have found something that I am love doing and am good at. I really did not know what to expect in a lot of things in my life. Even though my parents were not able to help me in anything school related they taught me to have that inner fire that refuses to fail and it has brought me to this day.

Thanks.
