I am at a loss as to where to go!

Hello everyone, I am a high school senior who is trying to make their decision as to where to attend college this up coming year. I have narrowed it down to two choices, and I wanted to get some input. First off, I am a relatively hardworking student, so I needed a school that would challenge me enough academically (Engineering is also my major). That being said, I also plan on having a lot of fun doing clubs and maybe even a few sports. As for partying, I can’t say I’m to keen on the idea of going out every night. Sure, I’ll probably go out and party now and then, but I don’t plan on that being my weekly goal. So, I have narrowed down my choices to the University of Dayton and West Virginia University. I have researched both programs, and found out both are in good standing. Both colleges are very close when it comes to financials, so I though I would get a feel for what the social life would look like. I was horrified! All I’ve read about the past two weeks is parties, parties, and more parties. Again, I may go to a party and drink now and again, but I do not want that to be my only social life. I don’t as much care if wild parties are being thrown every night, as much as I care how it impacts my overall social life. I can control myself, but if the only thing to do on weekends is party, then I’m nervous I’ll be on the outside looking when it comes to friends and whatnot. If anyone could give me some advice, I would really appreciate it.

Instead of researching parties, research Student Life for those schools and see what kinds of clubs and activities are available that you might be interested in.

Most colleges have students who party. They also have students who don’t party, or who don’t party all the time.

Both schools are large enough where you should find plenty of other students who enjoy similar interests and social activities.

^ Agreed. UD is a local school and there are people of both types. You’ll have lots to do with sports at both schools. UD has a great internship program with the AF Research Labs and Wright-Patterson AFB so opportunities to work.
