Hey, recently read an article which stated your high school grades must be perfect in order to get into Harvard Law, as well as undergrad, I am doing extremely well as an undergrad, but i did not care about high school too much and could have done way better. Does the high school grades matter with a 3.9 GPA?

...I don't think they even check high school grades. I have never heard of anyone caring about your high school GPA for law school.

I just applied to a few schools, including HLS. Nobody asked for a HS transcript. What article was this?

100% false and absurd. HS grades and accomplishments mean nothing when it comes to law school.

But that doesn't mean some people won't send them.

I know someone who works in the admissions office of a top law school, and she said this one girl sent every report card she has ever had. Including kindergarten!

You will need to send transcripts for all college-level courses taken where college credit was earned, even if those courses were taken during high school. Perhaps that is the source of confusion?

WOW thanks so much, the whole article sounded bogus,
here is the link

Thanks so Much!!! u saved me from a nervous breakdown lol

Proof that you must take articles published on the internet with a grain of salt!

I.... I cannot find a single part of that article that is true. Seriously, never read it again. That is absolutely TERRIBLE advice. I think the person who wrote it is actively trying to sabotage other possible candidates.

The very first sentence is okay. The first paragraph is sort of okay. The last paragraph is wrong, but close. Everything else is atrocious.

And yes, the last paragraph -- meaning the website description.

Just in case, point-by-point:

--HLS never asks for HS grades and achievements. In fact, including them makes you look like a moron.
--There is no interview. There is a short, three-minute phone call which will open with the question, "What are you doing right now?" It is not remotely like a singer going to interview for a record label. Among other things, you will not be asked to sing. And it is not an interview.
--Harvard pays little attention to your college's "excellence," no attention whatsoever to your class rank, and it does not require all of your extra time in order to do well.
--Class structure is not very important, although loading up on obviously easy classes is a bad idea.
--"It is important to remember that the time that is put into it is the time that will be gotten out of it." This doesn't even make any sense. Spending three hours writing your HLS essay will... save you three hours down the line? Harvard will generate three hours for you?
--"They expect the potential students to know what is expected because if it is not, then they figure that the student does not want to go to school there bad enough." If it is not? Bad enough? Grammar important less if point intelligent not anyway?

haha...the author looks stoned.
