Guys I took the SAT for the first time on October, without much preparation, and scored a 1640 (CR: 500, Math: 590, Writing: 550)

I followed the Silver turtle's method for the CR section, and it didn't quite work for me. I missed a lot of questions in each section. Maths without any preparation. In writing I basically followed my instincts. So 1640 was the outcome.

Again, on November, I took SAT for the second time and scored a 1740 (CR: 510, Math: 680, Writing: 550)

For November test, I took almost all the mathematics sections from the blue book. It was just the 10 practice tests from the Blue Book, nothing more than that. No prep classes. No tutor. No guides. No e-books. All on my own. In the test, I left 3 questions, due to lack of time.

For CR, this time, I didn't follow the Silver turtle's method. Instead, I went first through each passage, then subsequently attacked all the questions later. I was able to complete a lot more this time. Out of 4 CR sections, I was able to complete 3 of them without missing a single question. The only CR section that I couldn't complete was the 20 min (19 questions) section. I missed 5 question in that section. So, on the Oct I missed almost 20 questions, while on Nov I missed just 5 of them. I was satisfied with my CR performance this time, until I got a 510 on the Nov Score. Just a 10 point increase. I was horrified to see that. I was expecting at least a 600 this time. So the basic method didn't work for me either.

On the Oct test, I left 3 Writing questions, again due to lack of time. Basically what I did in the writing section was, circled the bubbles as I went through the questions. Following instincts was what I did. I bubbled the answer choice which sounded correct to my ears. So it was 550, even after leaving 3 questions. For the November test, I followed a new method. First I solved all the questions, and bubbled them all in the end. This way, I was able to save almost 3 minute in the 25 min writing section. I didn't left any question this
time. I was shocked to get a 550 again. Though, I was able to complete all the questions, all I did was followed my ears.

It was always my dream, to attend a good liberal arts college (all of which at least requires a 2100+ in the SAT), but now that my SAT score is really low, I don't think I will be able to make it.

As I am currently in my junior year, I still have a year to prepare for my college. So, I really need to work on the SAT this time. Do you think I can raise my score to a 2100+ (in a year)? Is there any thing I can do? Or have I reached my saturation point? By how much points do you think I can improve my score? I don't have much ACT prep materials, so wont be taking it. What should I do to improve the CR and Writing? I have started regarding, people scoring a 800 in the CR and writing as God, for 800 seems a stage unreachable, which only exists in my dream. HELP !!
