Hi guys. Alright, so I applied to UCLA and Cal. I have a 3.75, 60 units and my major and igetc requirements done. Cal is my first choice and I expect to get in but who knows. As stupid as it seems, I don't really want to go to UCLA just because it is so close. I didn't give myself enough options. What I need to know are some good schools whose deadlines have not passed. I also would prefer schools who do not put too much emphasis on the SATs because my scores stink. I know this is so late, but thanks for the help.

You ONLY applied to Cal and UCLA? No other UC? You have a good chance to get in with your GPA and IGETC done but it's a gamble if you didn't apply to other UCs too. Are you looking for UCs that you can apply to now? UCs don't care about SATs if you're transferring.

Are you looking at private California universities? Santa Clara University has a late deadline, if it fits your needs. Their website has transfer guides for many of the ccc's.

Same, but with a 3.94 and a 4 year break :o

doesn't it still depend on what your major is?

Wow, I'm in very simliar shoes as elizapontiac...

So Bump.

http://www.msmc.la.edu/
http://www.lmu.edu/
http://www.mills.edu/

both are still accepting applications.
msmc until 3/15 and lmu until june.
mills until 4/1

Hmmm...

Anything far from Los Angeles and a top tier school or lac?

YES--IT REALLY MATTERS WHAT YOUR MAJOR IS!!!

What is it, Eliza?

Wow... UCLA and CAL only... nice bet, indeed.

bump!

Maybe this will help us elizapontiac...

Does anyone know of any top tier schools whose transfer app deadlines are still a good two weeks away or more?

I think this would be helpful to many people.

I am a sociology major

Univ of Chicago, NYU (April 1st)

Sociology is in the social sciences division of Letters & Science at Cal. That is an extremely competitive division.

it was a really stupid decision to just apply to UCLA and UCB and that too with a 3.75..it if were 4.0 it would have been different. You shold have picked some safeties.

i agree, even with your GPA antyhing can happen since these two schools are very selective. Do you really want to wait another year just because you didn't apply to other schools?

I think she'll get into UCLA, even though sociology is impacted--the average gpa of Fall 2005 admits to sociology was 3.53.

Thanks reaching for the stars!

I might actually apply to those two...

Any more suggestions guys?

i dunno, i'm afriad that i won't get in anywhere and i'll have to take a gap year and apply again with a higher gpa since i really don't want to go to my current school anymore.

Alright, I get that I am a loser for not applying more places. Any good schools still taking apps? Thanks
