ok guys, been looking at this site for forever, but decided to sign up to ask for some help.

i'm at el camino college in torrance, ca
i have finished 65 units finished
i applied this time around to UCLA,UCSB,UCSD, USC, CAL, SDSU, CSULB
my gpa is ~3.42
and im a business econ/administration major

work experience: co-owner of appliance repair company

and i believe i wrote a strong personal statement

anybody wanna help put me out of my misery and just guesstimate my chances on getting into those schools?

loller...what does the counseling office at El Camino say about your chances for UCLA? I know a ton of transfers come from Santa Monica CC, so I wouldn't write off your chances for UCLA completely. I would check out the stats for transfers from your school. But I think you should feel confident about your choices. Definately no problems at the CSU's in my opinion.

well, el camino has the best transfer rate to UCLA in Southern California for community colleges.

i believe grey_syntactics is the most accurate so far, as thats what im thinking as well. its too bad UCSD does not offer bus-econ or bus-admin, and only economics.

i hear sdsu has a decent business administration program, i think i would choose this over ucsb.

theres a lot of string pulling at sc, dont be surprised... reggie bush wanted to go to stanford but didnt have the grades, sc said "we'll take you in a heartbeat"

i know several cases where idiots, who dont deserve to go to sc at all, make it there somehow because of the connections they have..... two twins from my ccc, with 3.3s and virtually nothing for ECs with the IQ of a peanut, make it into marshall and viterbi for fall 08. these idiots got major hookups. i know a few other cases as well

ok ok let me rephrase what i said "if you know people in usc it helps a F***ing ridiculous amount, almost too good to be true"

if you were in my shoes, being a business administration major (for MBA), would you:

A) go to ucsd for the name, but take regular economics and later get MBA
B) go to sdsu for bus-admin program, but settle for a school with a weaker rep

loller, i would say A, go to ucsd, for undergraduate studies... schools rep is far more important than anything else if youre planning on going on to graduate studies.
