Okay, maybe someone can help me here.
I applied for transfer to Eugene Lang College the first semester of my freshman year. In June, I got a letter from them which said "congratulations on your acceptance for fall 2005" and then it was a form which said which credits transferred. I quickly sent them my second semester transcripts, and waited for something else to come in the mail but nothing did. So I called and asked what I should do, and they said I should have received a packet in the mail, but I did not. So they said they would send it again. 2 weeks later I received another letter, this one about planning my tuition payment or something, but nothing that was there to confirm my enrollment, or apply for housing, or register, or ANYTHING. Isn't it getting too late now for me to do these things? I am freaking out because I don't know how this process works, and they are really not very helpful. I feel like I should know by now whether I am for sure in or not so that I can make plans, and I really don't know if I am actually in, ahhh ok help someone.

My best friend goes to Eugene Lang, and they NEVER have their c**p together. Last summer she was waiting for her housing info LONG after everyone else found out. Then when she got there they told her she had to live in a forced triple (a room thats really a double but has 3 beds) then they moved her a week into the semester. She ended up moving again before the year was over. There were similar mix ups with her financial aid and everything else. Dont get me wrong, she LOVES the school, but shes the first one to tell you that they are not efficient or organized about anything.

Dont be too discouraged. I went there over Spring Break and I loved it. I kinda wish I could go there. You'll have fun.

don't be confused or frustrated! virtually every school leaves their transfers hanging. they totally lag on getting info sent out to transfers. you just have to keep calling and waiting. they won't forget about you. you have to remember they have to take care of all the precious freshman first and all their needs.

that's annoying... we're important too!!
I'm just afraid they're going to be like, oops we made a mistake! you're not in... too bad sorry. ah that would suck because I've already withdrawn from my other school.

Easymack......... Can you tell me anything about what it was like at the school? I've been to visit once but I like to hear from other perspectives. People have told me many different things, what's your take on it? I'm soooo excited to go, if they EVER send me stuff that is.

I think its a great school if you want small classes and such. My friend was in a latin class with 6 kids last semester. Theres a huge amount of personal attention in the classroom, which is great. I love the city and her dorm wasnt too far away from her classes. She lived on 13th between 5th and 6th avenue, and it was nice enough. I loved her roommates and friends. No judgements here, just observation: Ive never seen so many gay people at once, ever. I loved everyone I met.

The only thing that I didnt like so much was how the school really is spread all over the city. Theres no campus at all, but if you live in a dorm and make friends in class and such, that should solve the problem.

My friend loves it. Shes joined Debate, which is a coalition club with NYU, and that has really helped her find alot of friends.
