I am so stressed out!

I slacked off freshmen year and got a cumulative gpa of 3.0
sophomore year I got a 3.2 and Junior year i got a 3.85. SAT score is 2200. If my math and science grades were good could i still get into a good engineering school

Can you get into one of the best engineering schools? The only way to tell is by applying. In your favor: 1) You have a very good SAT, and 2)Your grades are on an up trend. My opinion is that you should roll the dice and apply to your dream school. Regardless, there’s a good university (like an Illinois or Case Western) out there waiting for you.

You are not in a great situation. Engineering programs are often very selective and your high SAT/junior grades, with a low GPA in 9th and 10th grade imply laziness (which colleges don’t like). Have you taken a math subject test, specifically the Math II one (which many engineering programs require or strongly encourage you have)? Also are there any specific schools you are looking at and what are your ECs?

Woah, are you my twin? I am literally in the exact same situation. I didn’t do so well in the first two years but I really picked it up and I got great SATs.

The only way to show college admissions officers that they should not pay much attention to these two years is to get stellar SAT 1 (which you did) and stellar SAT 2 scores. Also do well on your AP tests.
