I am such a hypocrite...

But I just out of curiosity...anyone care to evaluate my chances?

SAT's: 2000
ACT's: 30
SAT 2's: Literature - 750 US History - 600 German: 720
GPA: 3.6 UW

Transfering at 18 as a Junior in college.

I am 17 years originally from San Francisco, California but have had the opportunity to live and travel to many places such as India (where I attended a rigorous boarding school for a year) and Thailand, where I was home schooled for a year while immersing myself in the local culture and becoming familiarized with the traditions and customs. I am a competitive figure skater and I obtained a coaching license in 2006. I am currently teaching five Learn-To-Skate classes a week. Once a week I enjoy being a judge at Teen Court and twice a week I am able to help my parents five hours a day in the family business. I am a founding member of the Student Government Association of the Santa Fe Community College. I am in charge of organizing and advertising events and helping the school run more efficiently.

I am half Ethiopian, half Asian (Thai, Burmese, and Punjabi). I am a first generation American and a first generation on my Mother's side to attend college.

... its a crapshoot. nothing stellar. id say middle of the pack. best of luck.

My opinion: check the "African-American" box in the application.

oh, cool. i'm kind of from santa fe. i've actually lived in los alamos my whole life, but since there is nothing in los alamos except a school and a lab and a couple stores, i'm in santa fe a lot.

oh yeah? are you in HS?

A transfer? I would suggest just applying as a first year, though you may not want to. Transfers are much harder than freshmans.

i have too many college credits

Being black will get you into Harvard with typically lower scores? Why do you think that?

Affirmative action and under represented minority recruitment

But you are a minority, you mean the lack of African American representation at Harvard?

You did a lot of traveling... you went to school in India? That's really impressive... maybe it will play off on the application. You know, as a "well rounded" or worldly sort of plus! Still, by itself it's really cool anyhow... how many languages can you speak? Are you planning to do IR?
On the side, I really think the A.American thing may help in your favor...
Best of Luck!!

reject .

it is gonna be tough but definately apply and have a hell of a good essay. just dont get ur hopes up... it is hard for everybody to get in. Good luck!
