I'm currently in a Christian college and am transferring to a public university this fall as a sophomore. In my spring semester here at my current school I'm enrolled in a class that studies the Old Testament of the Bible. The best grade I can hope to get out of this class is a B or B-, and this class will most likely not be accepted by the public university as a social science elective credit. So should I drop it and receive the W on my transcript so it won't bring down my GPA and I can have more time to focus on my other classes? Or would the school I'm trasnferring to prefer I stay in this class? Or would they not care?

Many colleges would probably accept the credit but as one of your "free" electives not for the core curriculum.
Overall its best to get a B... because people with Ws are usually with a D or F and thats what they'll think.

Well, a B would be the BEST situation, very possible a B-, hopefully not lower. I got a 74 on the first exam.

If I withdrew at this point I would get a W, not a WF, so it would not affect my GPA at all. I guess it just comes down to how much my new school would care, if at all.

Ya .. you should stay .. since you will be transfer out anway .. I would take a B and get credits for it rather than none .. since this is your last semester . this grade wouldn't effect your chance of getting into a college ..so ya .. take it and smile . because no one is perfect .. ^-^

A school that does not take a B? What school is that? are u sure?

Why didn't you think about what you were taking this semester in prep. for next yr? I'm taking classes this semester that aren't fun but they will count towards my degree at my new school.

I didn't even decide for sure that I wanted to transfer until a month or so ago.

Well, it's a Christian school...they DO sort of preach/push things. But I guess if they may take it I'll just wait to find out for sure and then decide.
