I am trying to transfer to MSU and just curious what people think about my chances on acceptance.

I initially applied with a 2.9 GPA and was rejected. After I was rejected I called and asked why and it was due to lack of math. I was told that if I took a CLEP test and tested out of college algebra I could be reconsidered for admission. I took the test and got a 65 (only a 50 is needed for credit ) I then applied again and am just curious on what people think of my chances. Do you think my persistence is a good thing? Even though a 3.0 transfer GPA considered “more competitive” Will my persistence give me an edge? does passing a CLEP exam mean very much?
