I applied in Nov- Still havent heard; Why?!

Hi guys.. I'm sorry if there are other posts like this but I looked through the past few pages and didn't see anyone in quite my situation. I applied in late November and got the fourth e-mail in mid-december but still no decision!!!!

what does this mean? is that very abnormal? do you think it means they are on the fence; but why wouldn't they just defer me?

I'm especially confused because I have a friend who applied a week earlier, and has similar stats to me, and she got in about two months ago.. Ahh

Thanks for your help.

me too.. i applied on december and my friend who applied on february got the decision already.. it is because I applied for the pre-admission???

have you called the admissions office? I would voice my concern if i were you

Someone may have similar stats as you, but her essays and recommendations may have made a different impression on the reviewers.

You did apply pretty late, even though it doesn't seem that way. The problem with rolling admissions is that those who don't get their apps in early may end up waiting a REALLY long time for a decision. You still may be accepted, but you should definitely keep in touch with the admissions office to be on the safe side.

I called the office and the guy I was talking to said a letter had been sent to me in February. When I said I never received it he said they would re-send the letter. However, the web site still does not show a changed status. Can I infer anything from this? does that mean I've been deferred or does it usually say that on the web site as well?

Deferral usually does not show up on the web site, but in light of this type of situation it sounds like maybe it'd be best if it did.

umich received my app by november 12th and I still havent heard back either. I've been asking admissions and they keep telling me to wait... kinda sucks.

isnt there some kind of final date when every one left gets their decisions?
