I-Banking- NYU Stern or Berkeley Haas????????

I live in California and got accepted to NYU but am pretty sure I am going to get rejected to Cal. I have a 3.5 gpa (pretty low). My plan is to just go to a CCC for the first 2 years then transfer to Haas. What do you think?

NYU or CCC -> Haas

P.S. I'm pretty sure I can get into Haas as a transfer since I go to a super competitive private school (like in the top 10 in the nation) and the teachers that I talked to said that most of our CC students get into Cal

go to NYU Stern. It’s as good and as prestigious as Haas.

NYU Stern>Berkeley Hass, since we’re talking about finance/business here.

^ for finance, Stern has a very slightly higher rep than Haas. But as a business school, Haas has a higher rep than Stern.

what happens if haas doesn’t accept you as a transfer.
its one thing getting accepted to berkeley as a transfer, its another thing getting accepted to haas as a transfer. you should look up the major acceptance rates for transfers. there is a website called uc statfinder.

If you can pay for it, I’d go for Stern.

You’ll apply directly to Haas as a junior transfer student. Admissions is very competitive, moreso than regular Berkeley transfer admissions. Haas has very stringent prerequisites, so be sure you’ve completed them or are going to complete them before you apply. Most applicants are considered ineligible because they fail to follow the prerequisites.

Haas transfer requirements can be found here:
[Transfer Eligibility, Undergraduate Program - Haas School of Business, University of California Berkeley](http://www.haas.berkeley.edu/Undergrad/transfer_eligibility.html)

Last year, Haas received 1491 transfer applications. Only 101 were admitted (6.8%). Haas has a very high yield at 90%.

If you already got into NYU Stern, and can afford it, it’s the safer bet.
