So yeah, I think thats it. Lower-middle class Russian-American male. Chance for Columbia and NYU-poly. thanks in advance

You’re a match for sure. This is just a word of warning though, don’t highlight the fact that you’re a Russian (aka WHITE) male in a “lower-middle class” family on your application. It’s not going to give you a boost in chances and kind of rubs the wrong way.

Realistically, Columbia is a reach. NYU is a high match.

NYU is a match
Columbia ED is a mid-reach

EC’s aren’t spectacular, but everything is pretty solid.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/957169-so-you-think-you-can-chance-stanford.html

Columbia is tough for any unhooked NYer without 75th percentile stats.

NYU is a match, but getting aid if you’re low income is a other thing.

Sorry, I meant that for NYU you are a match. I’m not sure about Columbia because I’m not that familiar with it.

thanks so far

odd how I never get re-chanced.

NYU- High Match
Columbia- Reach

Columbia seems pretty reachy, but ED miiiight give you the boost you need. Will you have a chance to re-take the SAT and maybe boost up your reading score?

NYU seems like a match/high-match but financial aid is another beast entirely if you are lower middle class.

no, I will not be retaking the SAT. I am fine with my score, and I’m pretty sure that if I fail to get in, it won’t be because of my score.

bump 10char

I now know that my rank is 35ish/260ish. Top 15%, so close to 10%.

good luck! your SAT 2’s are great for columbia and your extracurrics show good dedication to your listed major, another plus

Columbia - reach, but worth a try

NYU- you’re in. In fact, you could do better
