i’m not sure…sorry. i think you should call the financial aid office at UCLA and see what they can do for you.

jen, nice. You’ll have to pay back the loans eventually. I think it says they start accumulating interest 6 months after you graduate. :)

i’m pretty content with this… but seriously, $12k for scholarship recognition? i’ve got a 3.47…

Just got mine as well. I got $15,457 in gift aid living off-campus. Not too bad. Has anyone found out if Regents is supposed to show up on EPal??

hey pinker I think they give more scholarship recognition aid (its a combination of different university, public and private aids) to those who don’t receive or are not eligible to receive need based cal grant awards – it covers a lot of what cal grant would to add up your very reasonable gift aid.

word.
that’s another thing, though.
i don’t, for the life of me, understand how i could possibly NOT have qualified for CalGrant. i really just don’t get it.

HOW did you all qualify for gift aid??? I got absolutely $0. They want my parents to pay $19,000 a year and for me to take out $7000 in loans.

Well . . . it’s a good thing I didn’t take the 4-year route. At this rate I’ll be able to afford grad school when I’m 40.

I think that the “Scholarship Recognition Award” should better be called “UCLA Grant” since the other campuses all have grants named like “UC Irvine Grant,” and the Scholarship Recognition Award is basically offering the same thing, which is based on financial needs.

The tuition and books is about 10k. The cost of living is about 15k >______>.
