Northwestern made a mistake this week. My son did not apply but a good friend did and I confirmed this on CC. In the morning, some people logged into their FA account and received a message reading congrats on ur acceptance to Northwestern. Others did not get that message. Later admissions came out and said it was a mistake , shut down the FA site and said the real decisions would be released that evening. However, many couldn't help but feel it was a good sign. Unfortunately, many of these people were rejected later that same day. Another CC got an online rejection and a snail mail waitlist to which Northwestern replied that the snail mail was the correct decision and they have a few online mistakes each year. Glad my son did not apply there.

I heard that too. That would absolutely crush me if that happened with ND. 10x worse than being flat out rejected.

as a rejection nominee of northwestern(not a top choice, wasnt crushed)..i want to clear that whole thing up about the problem

people were logging on and there was a vague statement in their financial aid section that made them think they got in..of course they jumped to conclusions and some were informed later that they got rejected..i wudnt say its all northwesterns fault..ther dealing witha bunch of paranoid teens hah

Ah witticker that clears it up.. guess it was made into a bigger deal than it really was.

I don't know, i'm a parent so pay no attention to my opinion, but the message was "congratulations on your offer of admission to Northwestern! Your financial aid award information will be sent under separate cover directly from the Office of Undergraduate Financial Aid. If your materials were submitted to us by the deadline, your award will be mailed by April 1. "
That does not sound all that vague to me, if it was your first choice that would be tough to take.

I just wanted to say Good Luck everyone! I'm enjoying this thread, as it brings back memories of two years ago when my daughter was waiting on her letter. She's now finishing up her second year, and she loves ND. She's never regretted it for a minute! She also can't believe the experience is already almost half over! It really is a special place.

Mailman just parked on my block...

...nothing

im so nervous..
i think i will cry if i dont get in

I'm from CA; am I pretty much guaranteed a wait until Monday?

Yeah, I'd say at least Monday... I'm guessing you'll receive it Tuesday.

what about Massachusetts?

Nothn in AZ... obvi

I'm hoping for tomorrow here in Wisconsin. I know my deferral notice came on a Saturday. I switched shifts at work so I can be home for the mail..

i live in dc so i am really hoping for tomorrow... if you go to ups.com you can enter your zipcode and see how long its estimated for a package to take, clearly its not 100% accurate, but it made me feel better!

usps has one too
and it says 2 days from ND to Wisconsin...
i need to get out of the house tonight, but i also need to see the badgers beat Davidson.

Where is that on the USPS site?
I've been looking for it with no luck...

I have an admissions decision from Stanford waiting in my Hotmail inbox, but I'm not opening it until I hear from ND! :)

Large envelope
ND Zip: 46556
I just made up the weight, but I checked and the length of time didn't change even all the way to 10 lbs. So what you put in really doesn't make a difference.

good luck everyone!

JCool, you have an admissions decision that you haven't read yet? Are you crazy?! You must have some insane self-control.
