Anyone wanna be a good person and help a poor desperate little girl? :(

lol you would get into atleast one of HYP

yes, you have amazing chances for CAS ED… congratulations :D

Black female with a 36? Enjoy Penn. There’s no way in hell you’re going to be rejected.

Was this more of a chance thread or a “tell me that I will be accepted” thread? lol Awesome stats. Truly impressive =]

Hah! No way! I was concerned about my extracurriculars,
and I saw some other people on the threads and got SUPREMELY nervous :(

At the risk of appearing bitter or insensitive, I will be forthright. You are an under-represented minority (commonly referred to as URM on this message board), meaning that you will reap the benefits that go along with affirmative action. In other words, your standards for admission are considerably lower than those of a white or asian applicant. A study found that URM is the equivalent of adding 250 points to your SAT score. (I can’t recall the name of the study; if someone else has it on hand, please do provide it.) The fact that you have a 36 makes you a great applicant, but as an URM, you’re mind-blowing to the admissions officers.

The other trend is that URMs’ extracurricular activities are not subject to the same extensive scrutiny that other applicants receive. Unfortunately, I don’t have any statistical evidence on this claim, but for anecdotal evidence, take a look at the URM results.

You’re in a great spot for college admissions. I don’t see any university in this country rejecting you, though a few fickle ones could. I’m glad that you’ve chosen Penn as your #1, though!

Thats some intense EC. Hollister model? instant hook, Penn wants an attractive student body.

HAHA jk… but yeah you’re 99.99999% in, unless t there is an abnormal amount of 36 ACT African applicants this year.

LMAO! @ Set Point…
Except all I really do is say “Hey What’s Up?” to people who come in the store…looooooool!

IRJunkie: The study was done at Princeton, I believe.

OP: Welcome to Penn =)

Yeah, Welcome to Penn! Early decision so that you can start preparing early. Great profile and you will be a great addition to the freshman class.

You can go wherever you want. You have a perfect test score, and you are a minority. You’d have a better shot than many even if you weren’t a minority, but the fact that you are african american makes you virtually non-rejectable. Research schools and find your favorites. You can pretty much go wherever you want.

I am so jealous of you! :)

where u applying in penn? cas? wharton?

I’m applying to the CAS :)
