I can't figure out where to apply

Hello currently I am a student at a local community college. I am having some trouble picking where to apply. I am looking at either a finance major or a psychology major. I am debating on whether or not I should get my associates degree. I also have an interest in pre law so IAM looking at schools that have a good program. does it matter what school I go to? I am so lost . I also have to decide if I want to apply for fall admission or spring admission. can you recommend amy colleges. I am looking for schools that accept a 3 ap test.I am from iL and looking to stay in the Midwest

What year are you in CC/how many credits will you have by the time you transfer?

What is your home state? CC GPA? HS stats if you are a freshman?

Generally, I would start by looking at 4 year schools that have an articulation agreement with your CC…so that you maximize credit transfer.

Based on your answers to the above questions, posters will probably be able to expand on the list.

Because you are a freshman, your ACT and/or SAT score will also be part of the transfer evaluation…what is that score?

Start with the schools that have articulation agreements with your CC, which are likely to be in-state schools, both public and private.

If you want to look at schools that don’t have articulation agreements, you have to be very careful about making sure all/most of your credits will transfer. OOS publics will likely be the worst at this, privates will likely be better. You have to meet with transfer admissions people and/or advisors at every school you target, and do a transcript review.

Look at NIU, UIC, DePaul. UIUC may be attainable for psych, Geis (finance) is probably not achievable.

What is your budget?

40 k per year
I have been using transferology

-Loyola

I’m not too familiar with transferology. Whatever it tells you…you must confirm this with the target school(s).

Again, start with schools with articulation agreements. With your budget I would start with the in-state publics. Also look at Midwest Student Exchange Schools. https://msep.mhec.org/

Run DePaul and Loyola’s net price calculators to see if they would be affordable…I am not sure how generous they are with transfer financial aid, so not sure if you will be able to get their prices down to $40K/year.

Can you commute to any of these schools, and live at home?

nope

Capital University would be good for pre-law and is likely to be in budget. Other central Ohio colleges that also provide good transfer scholarships are Otterbein University and Ohio Wesleyan.
