That's pretty much it. I'm going to be a Trojan come Fall folks. Why did I turn down Berkeley and UCLA and choose USC? Just too many reasons to list here but in summation: it just felt right.

USC is not bad, it just… a private school

It would help if you specified what your major was so I could either laugh at you or not care at all.

Why do you post if its always negative dude?

Haahha seriously. Words of life!

@thelongshot - Lol @ ‘heathen’. Props to you for following your heart (cheesy). You won’t be accepted here anyway though ehehe :P

I hope you’re paying the same for all 3, or else it just makes you sound like a precocious rich kid.

grats on USC btw.

Good job. I don’t see anything really wrong with going to USC (O.o)

Sorry, dood, but that is incredibly lame… Lol Jk

actually what is your major? i would totally go to usc over berkeley if i were given the dilemma. But ucla and usc? now thats a tough choice. props to you for making that once in a life time decision. money, smaller classes, and networking is the only difference imo

edit* hey op i saw ur post in decisions thread. ive taken summer at pierce before, currently at valley : ]

To answer everyone’s questions:

I am paying around the same at all 3 schools.

I’m not by any means a rich kid.

My major is Philosophy. But I was accepted to the Philosophy, Ethics and Value Theory/Pre-Law Program at USC

I don’t want to leave SoCal because my non-profit organizations and family are all here so my choices were between UCLA and USC (And the decision for Stanford’s waitlist wasn’t coming until July and that’s just too late for me, I want to get things set asap)

@ thelongshot: Congratulations! I really wish you the best! I have begun reading Beyond Good and Evil btw. I’m glued to it! Thank you so much for all of your recommendations. I often search back through your posts to find that 1 where you listed your favorite philosophy books and their various subcategories.

Right now I am in the midst of my existential philosophy phase haha.

congrats man…our phil 14 class is producing tons of ucla and usc students lol

Congratulations! It was a hard choice between UCLA and USC for me also. Fight on!

i will stress this again.

WAIT FOR STANFORD

it’s heads and shoulder above any school on your list and it definitely sets you up in a VERY strong alumni base for non-profit organization graduating from there. Don’t let the waitlist deter you.

Stanford is worth it and more.

^ dude, you realize how low the chances are of getting off the waitlist, right? its better to have security. grats on your decision, longshot.

Thanks everyone.

@peter I am waiting for Stanford obviously but I’m moving on right now as if I’m going to USC or UCLA (probably SC). But should Stanford accept me off of the wait list then I’ll make the decision to move up north for it but until then I have to prepare as if I’ve been rejected because banking on a wait list just is not smart.

Good thinking^ better to be safe
