I decided to go USC over...

I chose USC over Berkeley! How about you? What top-notch schools did you decline to attend and why? I chose USC over Berkeley because USC seems to be the school that allows students to have the "ultimate" college experience, and that's what I wanted. I could get an excellent education, and still enjoy college life... afterall, shouldn't it be enjoyable? Berkeley seemed just a tad bit hardcore for me, and I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it as much. Plus, I have to get out of Northern California (lived here for 17 years... need to venture out!!). Fight on!

over UCLA if i get into USC. Why because of the hot chicks and i could double major. Easy to get letter of reccomendations for grad school. Hmm, what else?........the school spirit.........also its on the rise in rankings. Magic dude, are you a transfer student? and by the way, does it snow in northern cali?

UC Berkeley and UCLA because USC has an animation program in the engineering school which is what I'm most interested in.

student4u, I'm a freshman for Fall 2005. Also, it does snow here in Northern California, but only in selective areas (Lake Tahoe, Mount Shasta, etc.). Most of norcal is in the Central Valley, so there's usually just rain (recently, we have had more storms than usual in May, IMO). Although, I do remember one time like 4 years were it snowed here in Sacramento, but it didn't stick to the ground. It was just flakes, but snow nonetheless!

cal and ucla

I chose USC over Scripps and the University of Florida, well, those are the schools it came down to, I got into quite a few. I chose USC because it seems to be able to give me everything I'm looking for right now, warm weather, a big city, an amazing education, good professors, no TAs teaching classes, and the chance to get out of New England. I'm looking forward to my undergrad experience at USC for so many of the intangibles that the school has to offer.

Johns Hopkins, Emory and Vanderbilt....

UCLA and Georgetown

Go Central Valley! :)

Santa Clara, USD, and Occidental.

columbia engineering, brown, UCLA, and UCB

Berkeley (out of state), UCSD, NYU, BU, Lehigh, UMD-CP

Boston U and UCSD.

UCI (regents) UCR (regents) UCSD UCLA

yeah I thought I was the only one to turn down "better" (more highly ranked) schools for SC.... but obviously not..... thats encouraging :)

UCLA honors, UCSD, NYU, Boston College

BC, Umich, NYU, BU, UF, UMiami

It was three years ago, but I chose USC over Northwestern, among others.

UChicago (decided it was too academic), UVa, Va Tech, Purdue, and Rose-Hulman.

UVA...wow what a tough decision

Actually, it wasn't tough at all. Every single damn snob in my school is going to UVa - I don't want to spend another 4 years with them!
