Merit aid is not worth for me. I have 2210 in my SAT. School Valedictorian Taken 14 AP classes. I won the Siemens National Semi Finalist award. Will win the Intel Science Talent search award (may be a finalist). National AP scholar. Great ECs. Plenty of research experience. I am not in the top 100 students to get the DHS award. (:

Don’t despair. The DHS awards are not announced until next year. It is a separate application, and the due date is still in the future - December 15, I believe. Be sure to complete the application, because you may have a shot at it. BTW, I think that only 75 are awarded, but this could vary from year to year. Good luck.

Just to add to capandgown’s comment, the DHS does require a separate application. Here is the link: http://admission.tulane.edu/documents/ScholarshipApps/2010_2011/DeansHonorScholarship.pdf While the Tulane site says 100 are awarded, for the last 2 years there have only been 75, probably because of the economic slump affecting all schools’ endowments, Tulane’s included. They might go back to 100 at some point, maybe even this year. They have not said. The announcement of the winners is always around February 20th.

The fact that you got a Presidential scholarship is tremendous. You should apply for the DHS.

Thanks folks, so much.
