I didn't take calculus- Is that really bad?

I am in trigonometry and analytic geometry. I signed up for calc but I didn't get a spot. I'm applying to BU, Northeastern, and GWU.

What program? If it's mathematics, obviously that isn't good. However, there's first year calc for all relevant majors, so it probably isn't a big deal.

What do you mean what program? I'm just worried because it seems like a lot of people are taking calculus on here, and BU did state that they prefer it. I am wondering if they will look down on my not taking it. Thanks for the response :)

I took AP Stats instead of AP Calc and still got into Georgetown.

It'd be nice to have a calc class, but your entire transcript counts. One girl I know only took three years of math (ending with trig/precal in junior year) but that was because the two AP classes she wanted to take (language + art) conflicted with when the fourth year math classes were (there's only two at my school). She's at Tufts now.

I took algebra 1 in both 8th and 9th grades, geometry in 10th, Alg 2 in 11th, and Trig/AnGeo in 12th. There were only 25 spots in the calc class, and for some reason precal wasn't "in my pathway". Well, your scenarios are a bit relieving!

The only school you may have trouble with is BU. And by what program they mean is it math, science, engineering, or business related? If it's not don't sweat it.

Oh i get it now, thanks :) No, I'm applying to Arts and Sciences as Undeclared. And BU's my first choice... I'm worried now!!

I took AP Stat and got into Cornell ED.

I couldn't take calculus, or even honors math (until this year, "honors quantitative reasoning," it's like alternative math...), because of scheduling conflicts earlier in my HS career that got me stuck in this track. I got into Middlebury ED. Doooon't worry.
