Maybe it's from always seeing shows like "the OC" and all those teen movies where the actors are 25, but I don't feel like the seniors that I saw when I was a freshman...all refined and older and whatnot. lol, now I don't know what I'm talking about...

i felt the same way at the beginning of the year, but now i finally feel like the people i saw when i was a freshman. it was weird at the beginning of the year because the people that were seniors always seemed soooo much older when i was a freshman, but then i looked at the seniors from my freshman yearbook and they look like people my age. i think it's just weird being the oldest; i'm so used to people being older and higher up on the food chain. it was a little hard to accept that for the first time, there was no one above me. lol

I'm only a junior so I can't talk from personal experience much but most of my friends are seniors and they are going through the same thing. It doesn't seem to them, or anyone else, that they are having great experiences. I do have a couple of friends who are though, and all of them have already handed in all their applications. I think once you get college stuff out of the way, you are free to act like the quintessencial senior should. I'm hoping that anyway.

that's so true karen- i also had that feeling billybob for like the firstm onth, but i feel like you'll just get over it.

I feel the same way. I'm pretty sure 4 years ago people were a lot taller and mature at my school, but its going down hill. Compared to other high schools around here, our school is pretty short.

Personally, I look very young, so I think people think I'm a sophmore.

S0ad, same here. i look really young as well and people often confuse me with a sophomore. but then again, i'm only 16, and a lot of sophomores are older than I am.

but yeahhhh, i dont feel like a senior yet. and you look at all those stupid shows like Laguna Beach and the seniors look SO much older than me and my friends. it's weird

Well, I can definitely distinguish myself from the freshmen, since they look so young in my eyes. But it's kind of hard to believe that I'll be done in only a couple of months. I mean, everyone told me to "enjoy senior year" at the beginning of it, but I'm not enjoying it at all.

It's so sad...my freshman sister looks older than me, so people think she's the senior. But yeah, still don't really feel like a senior. It's a weird thought that there is NO ONE in high school older than me by more than a few months. Like when you see those awesome marching bands at the Thanksgiving Day Parade...they are all my age or younger. SCARY.

I already look young for my age because I'm Swedish (apparently we age slowly), and I'm also young for my grade (turning 17 next week), so people do mistake me for someone younger, but it's more than the physical. For some reason last year's seniors just seemed much more mature than I feel now. I also rather dislike my high school and can't wait to graduate, so that's probably one reason I'm not having such a great time.

i remember in elementary, the seniors seemed so cool...this untouchable crowd...I still think people in the 90s looked more mature for their age. Right now, I don't feel like a senior. Sometimes I feel like I'm already in college, and other times I feel like a jr. Perhaps that's what being a sr entails.

my friends and i were actually just talking about this.

i reallly dont feel like a senior. i guess i look like a senior but im really short compared to most people [in all grades] at my school..so that might have something to do with it.

last year i felt like my class wouldnt step up and take the leadership role in everything at school..but we have really done it. and done it well. i feel like my class as a whole are the seniors that i looked up to when i was a freshman..but i dont feel like that personally.

Isn't it weird that it'll be 2007 in just a little over a month? I think I'm going to go insane. 2007 was always so far in the future... Man, we started high school in 2003. That's like...the Middle Ages! Man.

A few friends and I were talking about this as well. It's kind of amusing. When we were freshmen, the upperclassmen seemed so mature and old, but now that we are the upperclassmen... it just feels the same. Granted, it does seem like we have all changed in some ways or another, but it's just so weird how we've been through over three years already.

Ya its sometimes hard to grasp....but im sooo hapyp its finally time. I really can't stand my high school and can't wait to get out. When the ball drops and its 2007 it will be our year. I've been thinking about that for so many new years now...but now THIS will be the one! Im so excited!

just point and laugh at the freshmen. that's enough proof that you're a senior.

Those two lines just made me burst out laughing. I didn't think someone else would feel the same way.

but i personally feel like 4 years have been a LONG time.

but if you think about it..four years is actually a really looong time. i mean in the grand scheme of things its a short amount of time but of the time that we have been alive and concious...four years is forever.

haha that is sooo long ago.

I skipped 8th grade so I'm essentially a year younger than most of my classmates. And I always see kids from my previous grade which is weird. So, yeah, I really don't feel like a senior. I technically should have one more year, but I personally don't think that I could stand one more year of high school.

I'm a junior, and I look the same as I did in 7th grade. Except I'm fatter, and have a better haircut.
