Almost everyone i know says that Brown University is easier to get into than places such as UPenn, Davidson, or Williams. My AP lit teacher, who digresses very often, started talking about how he got into colleges like stonehill, loyola, and brown, but chose stonehill because it was a better and more prestigious school than brown or loyola. I happen to think that Brown is a great school, especially since it offers PLME. I might be biased because my best friend's sister goes there and my dad is a professor there, but i stilll think it's one of the best schools in the country- hence the title of an ivy league. Why do so many people underestimate Brown?

I believe it was relatively easier to get into Brown a few years ago than it is now. So, your teacher is obviously not aware of the current situation.

If your teacher thinks stonehill is more prestigious she is an idiot.

Ignorance, that’s all it could be.

Brown is a great school, but that’s not why it’s an Ivy league school. Ask your Dad.

@Tippusultan:that does make sense, but i just don’t like that he makes sweeping generalizations and assumes that he’s right all the time.
@Snapplefacts:yeah im starting to lose my respect for my teacher…i think he IS an idiot.
@2college2college: he is definitely ignorant
@gloworm: lol i dont really get what you mean, but my dad says that he likes the programs that it offers and how research is free to students and stuff. i kind of researched, and i think out of all the ivy league schools brown is the school that gets the least amount of donations. maybe that’s also one of the reasons
