I dont know how to start my essay...

Im writing my Essay for UConn Storrs campus early admission, and i dont know how to start my essay, im writing about how i am unique, and how i can benifit the UConn Community... can anyone help me out? i need to write an essay to make the admissions officers cry with joy....

Best thing is to realize that you are just writing a draft and that it will all be edited and rewritten by you later. You can craft the 'perfect' start on later. Just start writing. I often find in reading essays that Seniors write, that the first paragraph is just a bunch of blah-blah-blah, and that after they get that out of the way they get to the meat of the essay, and so the entire first paragraph, or few sentences can be tossed.

So just try writing some stuff and don't worry if it will be your final start to the essay. Just get the ideas flowing and a start will be easier later.

It's so weird, I wrote two essays today. One ended up pretty good for spending 10 minutes writing it. The other one sucks really bad, and I just feel how you do...how do I start it? (I deleted it and am trying to start over)

one lesson i learnt is that start writing whatever comes to your mind. use whatever languages you can just to put your point across. get an exoskeleton ready first. THEN go back and do many refining.

what i used to do was to try to craft the perfect one on the first go. it's tough, because in the process of it, the ideas tend to elude you (since you spent time trying to make it perfect than putting it down on paper).

^I agree. My first essay I just typed what came to mind, and it was good, but my 2nd essay I was thinking it over too much, and you could tell
