In my acceptance they said I recieved a scholarship for 5k a year for 4 years. Thats fine..but at the bottom they said i was denied admission to the SEAS. I mean that would be ok if i had actually applied.. I did not even indicate an engineering major so why was I up for consideration?
And also aren't they supposed to tell you if you get into honors? My letter says nothing about that but I have a 1500/1600 SAT and a 98 GPA so I would assume I would have gotten in...
Can anyone clarify this?

That same thing happened to me ! I didn’t even apply for an engineering school but a liberal arts major !! So CONFUSED ! My stats are similar to yours (2200 sat) so i’m very confused. A friend of mine got in last year automatically with a 93 avrg and 1980 score ! Could it be a possibility that they thought since we “applied” for SEAS, we got rejected from Honors? Let me know if you hear anything !

No reason to ask us!!!
Call UB admissions on Monday.

dellian101 and fngraclmntyn, i have the same issue. i emailed my area’s admission counselor but they’re obviously out of the office until monday. i wonder why they had us down for SEAS though

Hey CID2010, mind posting up what the admissions counselor says here on cc? i’ll try calling on Monday also. They did not mention under what major i was accepted…

When my D was accepted to UB two years ago, her Honors College invitation came two weeks after her acceptance/scholarship letter. It’s confusing, but probably due to the separate nature of the two functions within the university.

Can’t imagine what’s going on about your question related to SEAS…

Anyway, congratulations!

the admissions counselor never emailed me back, but my mom called during the day and they said it was a mistake printed on a lot of letters and new ones had been put into the mail. i actually got the correct letter today, it’s the same as before but without the last paragraph about SEAS

The honors college decision came in!
