but i got no emails...no invites...my id doesnt work...basically i have NOTHING

i mean i dont understand how i could be rejected to even general studies when sooooo many less qualified people from my school got in

my stats are
sat
math-760
verbal-620
writing-750

gpa
w-4.26
uw-3.8

good ecs...good essays...nothing bad in my record...

im not freaking out or anything...ive already been accepted to my top choices such as cmu and mcgill as well as many other schools...but this is kinda disappointing...i mean...NOT EVEN GENERAL STUDIES...oh well had to let that out...

How can you assess whether or not someone is "less qualified" than you, in terms of admissions? You have to consider the variables of presentation (i.e. how you came across on your application), what school you applied to, your intended major, etc.

Firstly, the 620 on your verbal is a little low for NYU. Secondly, if your other stats are good enough you may be accepted anyway. Invites and all mean nothing. Why can't people just wait for their letters?

i asses that people are less qualified than me by the courses they take in hs and how they do in them...im taking 4 ap classes and one honors and getting almost straight As however this other girl whos not even top 20 percent in our class is only taking 3 classes total this year and no aps and she got into general studies

i understand my verbal score may have been low for college of arts and sciences...althought i think my math and writing made up for it...but i admit theres a chance its low...but still i expected to get into gs

and the password thing pretty much tells me im rejected...but i just want to get this all out lol...either way

Everyone takes a million AP classes and gets straight A's (hyperbolic? surely), but those obviously aren't the only factors that go into the admissions decision.

What I don't understand is this thread, especially since decisions haven't gone out yet. Shouldn't it give you a bit of hope that the "less qualified" people got into GSP? Perhaps that means you actually got into CAS.

morgan i really dont know what to say, its possible that you go to a school where a lot of people apply to NYU so they had to limit how many they accepted from your school.
