I feel like I'm making a mistake just like my friend did for a career

I wanted to pursue a AAS in Dental Hygiene never did I pursued a General Studied and AES degree and now BSN in Uni

But working in anesthesia or dentistry wont make you a millionaire by age 40. Would you still be happy? If so, start on that path now. Dont delay anymore!

Dentist and anesthesiologist seem like really different careers skills wise. What specifically about dentistry is appealing? What specifically about anesthesia is appealing? “Everything” isn’t a real answer. What about each individual one as they are different.

No clue how I would feel honestly, I’d give it a week or two to see if I wanted to leave those jobs, other people in the world are super rich, that’s my goal even if it means

Can you explain what you mean when you say you would give it a week or two?

I would test out the job to see if I like it or not.

Plus it’s not just the career that will make a person go broke, it’s those heavy taxes they take out. That’s another thing bothers me the most in this life.

Nevermind

Totally not being serious…

You should become an international drug trafficker. That could make you rich really quick. No taxes, no degree needed, etc. It’s a hazardous job though so you might either end up in jail or dead before long, it could certainly fulfill the rich part though.

Don’t let things that you can’t control bother you….it seems all of these notions are taking a toll on your mental health and causing you to be paralyzed when it comes to making decisions.

What are your next steps?

Unfortunately, that really doesn’t work well for careers and jobs that require a lot of education and training. It works for retail and other jobs with low barriers to entry, but once people have undertaken specialty training, then if they drop the job because they don’t like it, they often lack the training for something else at that level.

But…you could look into doing some job shadowing, perhaps. Maybe the career center at your university can help you with that.

Taxes should be for you’re own being or own person lol.

Like for example, MarylandJOE has worked for 10 years and all 4 level of taxes taken should be placed under you’re entity, not go to the crooked Gov. Like how a savings account works but the taxes double every month and triple. A person can use or take that money out for themselves.

That idea makes me happy, Gov can go fend for themselves.

I agree that by the time you are 40, or near 40, you may be starting a residency at 40, in either of those two areas.

There are so many rules that need to be shattered and redone, so much time consumption.

What about the money the federal government is giving you right now to allow you to attend college? You realize that came from people paying taxes right? I would imagine you benefit from many tax dollars in other ways too.

OK, but that’s not in your power to change. So, working within the system, which is what almost we all have to do …what do you like about dentistr or anesthesiology (or even nursing).

Excellent point.

Op has the perfect life already so why should they change? They get other people to financially support them while they do nothing. If you dont work, you dont have to pay taxes. They are beating the system in their eyes.

That is a good point, or just take out 50 cents every year from my paycheck more than enough, not half of the check.

OP comes on here every couple months and starts a thread about a similar scenario. They care only about making lots of money quickly…

It’s hard to tell if they’re actually serious or just yanking everyone’s chain, successfully I might add.
