During my first semester sophomore year I changed my mind on what I wanted to study in college, I realized that i wanted to do nursing. Unfortunately, my university wouldn’t allow me to enter the nursing program so late without the pre-reqs. I had no idea what to and was in panic mode. On a whim I applied to a very small health science college from where I am from (Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences) and it is only a 3 year bsn program. When i got my acceptance i was thrilled and was like “yes, this is it, i know I’m making the right decision.” Now not so sure. Its still the same sophomore year but i took the second semester off because the nursing program won’t start until the fall 2017. Now I’m at home thinking, did i really make the right choice? I could have completed my bachelors degree and gotten into a Advance 2BSN program or something. The reason I am debating this is because, well first of all this would be my second time transferring which i don’t like, but i also LOVED my university and was living with all my friends in an apartment the upcoming junior year and was so excited. Was sacrificing my social life (since ill be living back at home now) worth it? I know its the smart choice with my career and time wise but I’m really confused on what to do. Any opinions of my situation will be very helpful!
If you believe it was the right choice career wise than you have already answered your question. Employers won’t care about the fact that you felt more at home in university and got to make lots of friends. You can still have a social life being at home, just in a different way. Do what you have to do for your career, which it seems like you are. Don’t feel guilty or worry about transferring a lot. Just be responsible about it. Avoid getting yourself into massive amounts of debt and do you.
