I didn’t read the admissions requirement and didn’t take the TOEFl as non of my other schools needed it since English has been my primary language of instruction for 10 years. When I asked the university admissions office they responded with this
If you have marked English as a second language on the Common Application, we will be looking for a TOEFL/ILETS test score on your application. Carnegie Mellon uses a holistic process to consider each applicant individually, meaning that we look at more than just grades. You can find out about our admission process, as well as our requirements for applicants, here: http://admission.enrollment.cmu.edu/pages/admission
Our requirements are very flexible. We will still consider your application if you do not complete all the requirements; however, your application will be stronger if you complete all the requirements, so we recommend that you do if possible. We do realize that not all high schools offer the same curriculum though, so please don’t fret if you are unable to meet all of our requirements.
Does this mean that I basically have no chances and wasted my time?
