I got 3's on all my AP test so far, will that hurt my chances???

Althought I got A's in all of my AP classes, unfortunately, I got 3's on all my AP tests (I took so far). How much will that hurt my chances of going to a very competitive college??

3's in Biology, US History, and Comp

It won't hurt you, but it won't help you. I wouldn't other sending the scores if you haven't already, but if you have, don't freak out. The large majority of applicants get 3's and 4's.

Maybe you aren't ready for a competitive college (depending on your definition).

Well since you at least passed you'll get the credit. But for like Language or something, a 5 exempts you from more than a 3 does.

^To a very competitive college as the OP stated, a 3 won't help in acquiring credit.

everyone here is crazy, don't worry about it, your okay. It obviously will not help you compared to getting 5's (I think you probably figured that yourself...) but most applicants probably get the same scores, if not lower. Anyway, there's not much you can do about changing those scores now, so don't stress too much. If it bothers you that much, make up for it by taking the SAT II's in those subjects and just killing the test, I mean killing it, like beyond 800, just shock collegeboard.

Not for like Harvard!

fact: only 15% of people on any given AP test get a 5 (thats the mean, but it varies less then 5%)

like 35-40 % get 4 or 5 on any given AP test

your in the majority. Theres a bell curve.

your in the majority. Theres a bell curve.

Exactly...hard and the top competitive schools are looking for minority...the top scorers, not people who can blindly go in and get half of the answers correct (3).

can you retake ap tests?

yeap you can...80 dollars albeit...
