So in sophomore year I received a B in art because of my lack of artistic talent: this course I could not study for - I simply "suck" at art just like how Justina Beaver sucks at singing. Learning this, I transferred out of art next semester. Obviously, I will still have to fill out the one year requirement for art for the UCs, but I plan to do that in senior year, where it will not be detrimental to me GPA when I apply to colleges. But that B in art sophomore year still remains! - will that B be included when calculating UC gpa?

Yes, it will, but they won’t reject you just because of one B.

Yes it will, and Berkeley doesn’t take anyone that doesn’t display artistic talent.

I agree with liquidus completely. You have be at least at the level of picasso in order to be accepted into Berkeley. Everyone at Berkeley has sold at least one painting of great worth.

And one B will ruin your chances of even UC Merced. How can you possible get a B? I’m ashamed of you.

But seriously, chill It doesn’t really matter in the long run :P

im so sick and tired of all the misinformation on this forum. how can you say it doesnt matter? my admissions portfolio took almost an entire year to complete.

@colesprouse: if you can’t take art and art classes seriously, you don’t belong here at Cal. seriously, research Cal’s website and look up the eligibility requirements BEFORE you ask dumb questions on the forum. :l

The ■■■■■■■■ in this thread has gone through the roof and I love it.

But on a serious note, let’s just say some people didn’t even have the arts requirement and still got in. Figure it out from there.

i didn’t take art, i just took a computer class…which somehow fulfilled it :]

I got an A and a 5 in AP Studio Art. And I got into Berkeley.

CORRELATION

no, seriously, a B? I’ve gotten Cs in high schools in more “important” classes (eg. physics). And still.

Jeez you’re just a sophomore in high school. Just chill out and come back to worrying about college in your senior year. There’s no guarantee you will get into Berkeley even if you did get that A in art. So just enjoy your high school right now and you will end up where you end up.

What the. No wonder I couldn’t register with the name Liquidus.

Cal is not an art school. They probably care about a B in art in 10th grade as much as you care about the ants in the park.

I registered with this name 3 years ago in order to prevent YOU from doing so 2 years later.

Dude!! Same thing! I got a b+ in art 1.
