I got a C on my Precalc midterm?

I'm freaking out! I'm a sophomore taking Precalc (it's supposed to be the most advanced level math course for sophomores at our school), and I've struggled to get an A- (91) in the class for the 1st semester.
I thought I was ready for the midterm, but when I checked the grade online this morning, It was a 75.6! I'm freaking out. Even though this midterm grade (C) won't show up on my high school transcript, it's shameful and will bring down my overall grade by 2.5 points. Any suggestions?

I’m in PreCalc/Trig as well, but my teacher doesn’t teach, yet I still manage a high A. Are you understanding all of the concepts? 1st semester of PreCalc is just Algebra review at most schools. If you can’t master “basic” Algebra, you will not make in in Calculus.

What suggestions? I’d say to not worry too much about it. Did you prepare accordingly for this midterm? Unless you’re worried about the B?

Well, I never took Algebra II. Maybe that’s one of the reasons why I don’t pick up things as quickly. But, some of the kids in the class have never taken Algebra II either…
I am worried about the B…

Algbera II isn’t that hard either IMO. It’s basically Algbera I with a few new concepts/expanded on.

Hmm, why don’t you ask the teacher for some extra credit opportunities? Or turn in assignments you haven’t yet (assuming you’re missing a couple of assignments).

Good luck in Trig if you’re not understanding semester one concepts!

Precal classes seem to vary a lot. At the school i go to the first semester definitely was not algebra review. We spent less than a week reviewing algebra and then before it was even September we started doing trig. My teacher did say though that by the end of october we would know enough to take the SAT 2 in math.

It sounds to me like you have an enormously easy PreCalc class. In my school, it’s almost literally murder. And we don’t do any Algebra II review… at all.

Going from Algebra I to Precalc is just not something that the average person does…

^And that.

you never took algebra 2…did you at least take geometry?

hold on. before i continue…

1) are you ****ing ■■■■■■■■?
2) you should be grateful that you didnt take algebra 2 and you are getting a decent score in your precalc assignments. sheesh, you remind me of this guy:

Hmph. So it’s easy because only 4-5 out of 30 students have an A? I highly doubt that. PreCalc at my school is a “review”, par say of Algebra II (elaboration on logs, polynomials, systems, etc.) and includes topics of polar, nonpolar, sequences, series, limits, trigonometric identities, functions, and an intro to Calculus. The textbook is Larson PreCalc. Doesn’t sound easy now eh?

Back on topic, OP claims he hasn’t taken Alg II. So he could’ve taken Geometry already (varies at every school).

Figure out what problems you got wrong and ask the teacher how to solve them?
