I got this letter from Penn today(international applicant) which told me that they had received 1A of my application.(I have applied for M&T).It was signed by the Dean of admissions and explained the admission procedure for the program:
ok to be precise:
"We will first consider your application for the ---program.If at all we are unable to offer you admission to this --,we will consider you for your single degree option----.On admission, your offer will include the name of--or---to which you have been accepted.
Please free to contact the ----.
Eric....Kaplan"
Have any other joint degree applicants received such a letter or is it the "blue post-card".
Is it just another mail from Penn...or is it a bad(god forbid it is) news???
Thanks guys.

My son also applied to a joint program and received a letter worded similarly. It seemed to me that this is just a formality for them to tell you the proper procedures.

Don’t worry if you have a strong application package.

I received that on November 10th, but maybe they are just late in processing some parts of your application?
