I got a ticket from UCLA Parking... hence this rant

I FREAKING hate UCLA Parking right now. The money-grubbers gave me a 53 dollar ticket for having an "expired permit" while I was parked at Parking Structure number 2, beside Murphy. The money-grubbing officer didn't seem to see my FFFFFFF ALL DAY PERMIT THAT I BOUGHT JUST 3 HOURS BEFORE HE GODDAMNED ISSUED ME THE TICKET. I bought the all-day permit in one of those stalls inside the structure, obviously with an expiration dated the next day. What a effin d**che. The ticket also had a comment about not "posting a DP Placard". If that's the disabled thing, well I did not park in one of those disabled people's spaces, and if I had, the fine would be 300+ (according to the UCLA Parking website). Anyways, appeals take about a month and judging by the fact that these arrogant SOBs won't give a hoot about my appeal and their greedy ways, I have conceded that I'll have to inevitably pay for the ticket.

I just wished that I didn't buy the freakin all day pass in the first place if they'll charge me 50 bucks. At least I could have deserved the ticket :)))).

So yeah, to the greedy, ignorant, and Trojan-ish UCLA Parking Officer C17, I hope you freaking get a brain.

same happened to me :frowning: im just hoping the appeals go through and i wont have to pay for something like this

I would definitely submit an appeal. In a similar situation (in HI), I have gotten my appeal granted & the ticket dismissed. Why pay the ticket if you have documentary proof that the officer messed up. Xerox the originals as proof that you had the pass displayed BEFORE the ticket was issued.

I dont really understand how they could make such a boneheaded mistake. If you parked in the correct pay-by-space stall, the computer should have clearly told him whether or not the spot was paid for. When you park there, you don’t even need to put the parking receipt on your dash or anything since everything is registered through computers.

Anyway UCLA parking has always been full of parking nazis. I know of someone that has gotten 12 tickets in 2 years. The key is to exploit their tactics. There are some locations that are go unchecked (=x) for most of the year that can be taken advantage of and other ways of getting past UCLA parking.

Yeah I actually submitted an appeal online right now with the proper documentation to boot. It’s actually mind-boggling how this officer got the job let alone got admitted to UCLA (if this guy is a student). Come to think of it, maybe he has summer school problems or whatever, so I’ll be nicer and think that he wasn’t enjoying it while issuing me the ticket.

Thanks for the replies people, it really showed me that I’m not the only guy these evil fascists/stupid boneheads have taken advantage of. :)

Sorry bruh, but that’s what you get for like following the law and stuff. All cops are Trojans. They must be.

the appeal should be fine. i knowingly parked in sunset (my usual permit spot) during a time when we were supposed to not park there because of some event and got a ticket as a result. i just appealed and said “did not get notified about this change” and got it reversed.

This article is really helpful and has info on where to park at ucla are a student:[Finding UCLA Parking - A Complete Guide](http://blog.parkme.com/2013/03/08/ucla-parking/)

Basically it just tells you where to find paid parking, metered parking, and free parking. It also tells you when the street cleaning days are so that you can avoid getting tickets.
