Hooray, first day of spring quarter! Nooo, I got a parking citation already for an expired permit. I think I have a legitimate reason to appeal it, though. I purchased a permit for 3/27/11 - 6/27/11 and I was planning to pick it up at a kiosk on 3/27/11 once I returned the campus after Spring Break. According to the website, most of the kiosks should have been open until nighttime on that day (extended hours for Spring 2011). However, all the damn places were closed, and I drove around for a couple hours hoping for any of them to open, but they never did. So I had no choice but to park overnight (I'm an ME resident). Lo and behold, the parking Nazis wrote me a ticket early in the next morning! T_T I know that a permit isn't valid until I actually pick it up, but really, I didn't get any chance to do so. This is so unfair. Do you guys think I have a chance with an appeal?

Yes, I think they generally let you appeal 1 anyways, & you definitely have a good reason too.

That’s odd… it shows that I don’t have any unpaid citations. Maybe the guy realized how heartless he was and canceled the charges. Heheh. Well, if I still do have to pay it, I guess it wouldn’t hurt to appeal (damnit, I should have done that with the one I got last quarter, lol). I heard they’re pretty lenient in granting appeals, which is totally unexpected based on how ruthlessly they churn out citations.
